Marketing and Selling for the Tri-City Church Resale Shop

Hours of Internship: 23 hours

The high school group got an internship opportunity with Tri-City Resale shop which is apart of the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry. We are helping the resale shop with their online Etsy shop .

With using Etsy, the resale shop sells vintage and rare items that have been donated to them. We work on our skills on how to appraise vintage items and neat tricks to photograph and market. We do our hardest to put up the photos, measurements, and researched information to create a new listing to be posted online.

Sole Loved Shoe Charity

Hours of Internship/Volunteer: 16 hours

For this internship, I was on the artist team for our Sole Loved Internship group. Sole Loved is a 501c3 local shoe charity that delivers new and gently used tennis shoes to local children need.

For our contribution to this charity, we partnered with Sole Loved and started our own shoe auction to raise money. Our profit was split and given to the Sole Loved Community in order for them to buy shoes.

As a member of the artist team, I was in charge in painting customized shoe orders.

Art Teacher at Clemente Martinez Elementary School

Hours of Internship/Volunteer: 22 hours

Every Wednesday, a group of students and I go to Clemente Martinez Elementary School. Clemente is an elementary school in Texas, in the Houston ISD school district. My group goes weekly to teach children ancillary art classes for the Pre-K and Kindergarten.

Our internship opportunity is in collaboration with Hope stone, an education program that teaches art, music, and dancing. Hope Stone has committed to improving the lives in the communities for Houstonians through art.

I create lesson plans, provide materials, and teach children art lessons that are based on the elements of art. This experience has pushed me to be a better citizen in my community and pursue a teaching path.

5 Houston Center Mural

Hours of Internship: 6 hours

I went to an art job with our art teachers, Marjon and Dandee for an internship opportunity with other art students. We drove to Downtown Houston to paint a mural for the 5 Houston Center for an outdoor event they were having. This experience showed me ho much work is put into an art job which can be in a limited time span.
